MALAYSIAN CHAMBER OF MINES COUNCIL MEMBERS 2023

Management of the Chamber is vested in a Council comprising 15 elected members and three nominated members. Of the latter, two are nominated by the Miners’ Association of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang and the other by the Perak Bumiputra Chamber of Mines.

The Chamber Council usually meets once every two months. Its Annual General Meeting is normally held in May each year. The AGM is followed by an Annual Luncheon.

ACTIVITIES

Basically, the Chamber’s activities are in line with its objectives, which are generally aimed at promoting, protecting and enhancing the interests of the minerals industry in the country. The Chamber is always sensitive to the regional and global growth and sustainable development of the mining industry. It actively participates in regional and international meetings, consultations, conferences, and seminars that are related to the minerals industry.

SECRETARIAT

The Chamber Secretariat was located in Ipoh until 1975 when it moved to the Federal capital, Kuala Lumpur. This move was consonant with the need for the Chamber to be in closer proximity with the relevant Ministries, Government departments and agencies with which it has considerable dealings on matters pertaining to the minerals resource industry.

The Chamber Secretariat is headed by the Executive Director, Tuan Hj. Muhamad Nor Muhamad. He is supported by seven other senior officers, two junior support staff and a Technical Consultant. The Secretariat is located on the 8th Floor, West Block, Wisma Golden Eagle Realty, 142-C Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. Its mailing address is:
