There are five major publications produced by the Secretariat on a regular basis. These are the Malaysian Chamber of Mines Year Book, Malaysian Press Cuttings, Malaysian Minerals & Metals Bulletin, Malaysian Tin Bulletin and the Malaysian Tin Products Newsletter. All these publications are produced in-house by the Secretariat staff.

YEAR BOOK

This is the primary annual publication of the Malaysian Chamber of Mines. It contains activities of the Chamber during the year including speeches of the Chamber President and the guest-of honour at its Annual Luncheon which is normally held each year in May to co-incide with its Annual General Meeting. It also contains data and statistic on Malaysia’s minerals industry. It carries a list of the members of the Chamber. This Year Book is distributed to all Chamber members, the general public and to subscribers.

MALAYSIAN MINERALS & METALS BULLETIN

The Malaysian Minerals & Metals Bulletin is a bi-monthly bulletin published by the Malaysian Chamber of Mines. It replaces the previous bi-monthly Gold & Copper Bulletin. The Bulletin carries latest news, reviews and statistics on an array of metals and minerals except tin. It is distributed to the Chamber members only.

MALAYSIAN TIN BULLETIN

The Malaysian Tin Bulletin is the primary publication of the Tin Industry (Research and Development) Board. It is published once a month in the English Language. The Bulletin serves as a major information source regarding the tin industry. It carries latest news and a review of the tin market, data on supply and demand, and information pertaining to the state of the industry globally. It represents not only as a useful avenue for the dissemination of relevant information on the tin industry as well as acts as a primary publicity and public relations media of the Board.

MALAYSIAN PRESS CUTTINGS

The Malaysian Press Cuttings is another important media for the dissemination of latest news and information on the minerals industry. It is a collection of newspaper and other printed media articles reproduced and circulated monthly to those in the industry and others who are likely to benefit from the news coverage.

MALAYSIAN TIN PRODUCTS NEWSLETTER

The Malaysian Tin Products Newsletter is the official publication of the Malaysian Tin Products Manufacturers’ Association (MTPMA). It is published four times a year. The Newsletter carries reports on the activities of the Association and other useful information relating to the tin products manufacturing industry globally.

TIN IN APPLICATIONS

The book addresses a long-felt need among researchers in the tin materials field to be able to source under the one cover the advances in many cross-sectoral tin application areas and newer interdisciplinary frontiers that have come into prominence especially in the last two decades where the astonishing versatility of tin has been demonstrated. This book covers the horizon of recent tin research undertaken in the broad application areas of tinplate, tin solders, other thin alloys and intermetallics, inorganic tin chemicals and organotin chemicals, with a focus on ‘green’ synthetic processes, new emerging technologies arising from advances in nano-solid-state science (catalysis, chemical sensing, photovoltaics and energy storage), and biological tin chemistry aspects (chemotherapeutic and agricultural applications), while authoritatively laying bare the myths and facts of organotin toxicity that should interest a wide spectrum of readers.

TIN STORY: HERITAGE OF MALAYSIA

This publication, which is a coffee table book, highlights the contributions which the tin industry has made in the past, and the legacy left by the tin industry which is still relevant and contributing to the nation’s economy today. This book would enable Malaysians, especially the younger generation, to be aware of the contributions made by the tin industry, and more importantly the opportunities that can be harnessed from our past experience in the tin mining industry.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE ASIA-PACIFIC MINING AND QUARRYING CONFERENCE 2000

This publication is a compilation of all the papers presented at the 2000 Asia-Pacific Mining and Quarrying (APMQ) Conference held in Kuala Lumpur from 16 to 19 November 2000; an important regional and international event focusing on the mining, quarrying and minerals industry position in the Asia-Pacific region. The papers were presented by an array of experts drawn from Malaysia, the ASEAN region and other parts of the world. This publication is intended to serve as a beneficial contribution from the ASEAN Federation of Mining Associations (AFMA) and the Malaysian Chamber of Mines, co-hosts of the Conference, and as a useful resource and reference to the global mining and mineral community.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE NATIONAL SEMINAR ON THE MALAYSIAN MINERALS INDUSTRY 2000

This publication is a compilation of all the nine papers presented at the National Seminar on the Malaysian Minerals Industry held from 22 to 24 June 2000 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, which was jointly organised by the then Ministry of Primary Industries Malaysia, the Sabah State Government and the Malaysian Chamber of Mines. The paper presenters comprise eminent speakers from the relevant government departments, universities and the mining industry. The papers cover matters pertaining to Malaysia’s mineral resources, opportunities and policy issues. This publication provides a useful reference and source material on the Malaysian mining and minerals industry.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE MALAYSIA QUARRY CONFERENCE 2002

This publication is a compilation of all the papers presented at the Malaysia Quarry Conference 2002 held from 19th to 20th August 2002 in Kuala Lumpur, which was jointly organised by the Malaysia Quarries Association, Institute of Quarrying Malaysia and the Malaysian Chamber of Mines. This publication provides a useful reference and source material on the Malaysian quarrying industry.
